Challenge

Svitzer A/S, a Danish company specializing in towage services and environmental protection. Termomontazas was approached to be part of the first ever made environmentally friendly tugs with reduced fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Solution

Main figures: the length of the tugs was 31.5 meters and width reaches up to 11.5 meters. Termomontazas delivered insulation works, interior outfitting, supplied and installed steel/stainless steel, manufacturing and installation of furniture.

Result

The newly built ECO tugs have been an outstanding success, they are the smallest tugs ever made with diesel-electric propulsion. As a result, the speed of the tugs can go up to 14.3 knots compared to traditional M-class tug with a significantly slower speed of 12.5 knots.
