STX Europe shipyard is one of the largest shipyards in Europe based in Saint – Nazaire, France.  STX Europe Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard took on a project to build a cruise ship for an American company 'Norwegian Cruise Lines'. Termomontazas was asked to carry out insulation works on a cruise ship 'Norwegian Epic'.

Solution

Termomontažas was responsible for ceiling and wall insulation works. Mineral wool slabs and rolls by Ultimate were used on this job together with fiberglass, aluminum foil and Maplex material (visco-elastic acoustic insulator).  Our company conducted welding and mounting of ventilation screens, insulation works using T9 profiles with mineral wool with aluminum foil on both sides.

Result

When built the cruise ship 'Norwegian Epic' was the third largest cruise ship in the world. The length of the ship is 329,45 in meters, width reaches up to 40,64 meters. The ship is capable of accommodating up to 4100 passengers and 1708 crew members at the same time. After a successful completion the 'Norwegian Epic' completed its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York and continues to be a great success visiting many countries around the world.
