Challenge

The new prison was needed to be built in the area of Zaanstad, Holland in 2015. Termomontazas  was asked to do insulation, ventilation and scaffolding works.

Solution

The new building was built with modular 3D elements with the total of 5,500 solar panels, using 1,200 GWh of electricity per year. This corresponds to an energy consumption of about 350 households. In addition, the energy is used from a windmill that is directly connected to the JC Zaanstad, which is heating and cooling the building.

Result

Termomontazas successfully finished insulation, ventilation and scaffoldings works in February, 2016. The new Judicial Complex with 667 cells was completed in 18 months and opened its doors in June, 2016.
